Is It A Boom?

The Sacramento Bee explores the recent upturn in home prices in an article today, stating:

Sacramento home prices rose twice as fast as the national average last year, faster even than the pace set during much of the last housing boom. The median home price in Sacramento County grew 22.4 percent from January 2012 to January 2013, jumping from $152,750 to $187,000, according to tracking firm DataQuick.

This is some great news! The article goes on to explain how this trend shouldn’t be seen as a boom, but instead as a much-needed correction This is important to note, as many people looking at the market seem to be wondering if this is another bubble to be wary of. I tell them what I tell all my clients – it’s a good time to be both a buyer and a seller, and the market is only going to keep improving as those who couldn’t sell before or weren’t able to get a loan start making those moves.
Give me a call today if you’d like to talk more about buying or selling a home in this newly revived market!
